The Alumnus of the Year Award is given for outsanding achievement by a Laurier graduate.  It is granted to individuals who bring honour to Wilfrid Laurier University and recognizes professional accomplishment; notable personal contributions to community; and distinguished service to the University.  The winner embodies the spirit of Laurier and through action and accomplishment is an inspiration to the alumni, faculty, staff and students who make up the Laurier community.

Alumnus/a of the Year Criteria:

1.  Has brought honour to WLU through significant achievement in his or her career and/or through outstanding service to WLU and/or the community at large
2. Has earned a high level of respect for his or her stature, integrity, and ability

3. Is a source of pride for WLU alumni, students, faculty and staff
4. Serves as an ambassadorfor WLU and the Laurier community at large
